Obituary

Anna Wilson, 96, of North Platte, formerly of Arnold, went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2018. Anna was born to parents Earl and Leila (Downey) Brown on February 20, 1922 in a farm house southeast of Arnold. She attended upper Finchville School and graduated from Arnold High School in 1940.

Anna married Bernard (Bing) Wilson July 19, 1941, to which four children were born. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Arnold and a member of the United Methodist Women for several years. In May 1991, Anna and Bing were proud to receive the "Good Neighbor Citation" from the Knights of AK-SAR-Ben and the Omaha World Herald that rightfully recognized Anna and Bing for their willingness to help others. Anna enjoyed bowling and fishing with Bing and crocheting afghans for her children. She was especially proud of a bedspread that took her 3 years to complete which consisted of 50 blocks, each embroidered with a state's name, bird and flower. Anna also liked to cook and was well known for her delicious and generous meals including outstanding cinnamon rolls, pies and cakes.

Survivors include four children, Judith (James) Barnes of Granite City, Ill., Karen Kelly of Cheyenne, Wy., Jerry (Carol) Wilson of North Platte and Larry Wilson of Grand Island; sister, Virginia Geiser of Arnold, Ne.; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and many, many friends.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Leila Brown; husband, Bing; brother, Robert Brown; sister, Darlene Skinner; grandson, Lance Wilson; two great-grandsons, Cody and Wyatt; and great-granddaughter, Jessica.
