Arnold "Andy" Andrews passed away unexpectedly on Monday August 31, 2015 in North Platte, Nebraska at the age of 76.
Andy was born July 19, 1939 to Jasper and Myrtle (Williams) Andrews. He married Anne 'Tee Tee' Race on October 30, 1995. Andy served in the Navy from September 5, 1956 until June 28, 1960. He had worked 30 years on the docks in California before retiring and moving to North Platte, Nebraska. He enjoyed playing poker with many friends. Andy had done so well playing poker, he won a trip to Las Vegas to compete in a National Poker Tournament.
Andy is survived by sisters Jean, Chris, and Mickie; brothers Lee, Donald, Roy and Howard; daughters Tammy (Carl) Claflin of Idaho, Sara (Kody) Murphy of North Platte, and Beverly; sons James (Michele) Strickland Jr. of North Platte; along with many grandchildren and great grand children.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Anne; brother Richard; sister Sherill; and son Mark.
Online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com. Cremation was chosen and there will be a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Thursday September 10, 2015 at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery with military honors and Pastor Brent Montgomery officiating. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Andy's life. Those wishing to do so may sign the register book Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
