IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Arthur Raymond
Glaubitz
February 3, 1943 – June 19, 2020
On Friday, June 19, 2020, Arthur Raymond Glaubitz, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 77.
Born on February 3, 1943 in Julesburg, Colorado to Lemuel and Alice Glaubitz, Arthur was raised in North Platte, Nebraska. On March 31, 1979, he married Linda Kay Nelsen and together raised five sons. Mark, Steven, Randy, Kris and Allen. Art and Linda celebrated 41 years of marriage together. When asked their secret to marriage they would quote Charlie Pride's Song "Kiss an Angel Good Morning."
"You've got to kiss an angel good morning
And let her know you think about her when you're gone
Kiss an angel good morning
And love her like the devil when you get back home."
Art resided in North Platte until 1987 when he moved to Irving, Texas where he and Linda have lived for the last 33 years. But Nebraska was always home. Arthur's career while in Irving was focused on building maintenance for the same organization for 22 years.
A jack of all trades, Art had a passion for animals, automobiles, mechanics, tractors, ranching, farming and family. His dream was to one day own a team of horses like he remembered his Grandpa Glaubitz having. While in North Platte, he served in the Lincoln County Volunteer Sheriff Posse. He also worked on the pit crew for the stock cars of Ed Pasco and Russ Small. Always tinkering, building, rebuilding, fixing and engineering. He did it all.
To those who knew him, he was a man of few words and exhibited a rough exterior but as stoic as he was, his bark was worse than his bite and beneath it all was a heart of gold.
Arthur was preceded in death by his father, Lemuel, his mother, Alice, and his sister Catherine Call. He is survived by his wife, Linda from Irving, TX, his five sons, Mark and wife Jacquie from Tryon, NE, Steven and wife Lisa from North Platte, NE, Randy from North Platte, NE, Kris and wife Claudia from Darnestown, MD, and Allen and wife Elspeth from Dallas, TX, his brother Donald and wife Ona from Neosho, MO, his grandchildren, Amanda and husband Leo Harwager from Stapleton, NE and Nicholas and his great grandson, Dan Harwager, and sister-in-law, Jullie Shull from Lander, WY.
