Barbara Joan Troxel Vedder, 75, of Wallace, Nebraska, passed away in Denver, Colorado on February, 22, 2019. Barbara was born at Scottsbluff, Nebraska on May 6, 1943, to Raymond Oscar and Marie Gilligan Marsh Troxel. She attended school north of Mitchell, Nebraska, before moving to West Plain, Missouri for five years and finally graduating from high school at North Platte, Nebraska in 1962. After high school, she worked for 6 th Street foods and then the telephone company. On November 10, 1968 she married Henry Vedder of Wallace.
She was a communion steward for the United Methodist Church in Wallace, a former member of the garden club, and enjoyed tending her flowers and gardening.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Vedder; daughter, Zhonette (Greg) Brown of Denver, Colorado; son, Frank (Michelle) Vedder of Des Moines, Iowa; Grandchildren, Michaela and Noah Brown and Aiden Vedder; a sister, Avalon Biederman, Melbourne, Florida; two brothers, David (Sara) Troxel, Knightdale, North Carolina and Carl Troxel, Mitchell, Nebraska; a sister in law, Gloria Schultz, brother in law, Nyle Knoles, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Tom, George, Robert, and John; and five sisters, Roberta Lewis, Wanda Griffin, Betty Clark, Amy Mettin Sparks, and Rosemary Edwards; her step mother, Dorothy Troxel; her mother and father in law, brothers and sisters in law, and numerous others.
Barbara was blessed with many more family and friends that spanned her life.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association and online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March. 2, at the Wallace Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Scottsbluff Cemetery. Cremation was chosen. Those wishing to sign the register book may do so 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Friday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
