Benjamin Joseph Burke Jr or as his big sister has affectionately called him from the very beginning “Rhino”, was born into the arms of Jesus on Friday August 7th, looking just like his Daddy and namesake. Jr weighed 9 lbs 15 oz and was 21 inches long.

While we never heard Jr’s cry we are not without precious memories of him and his antics while growing up, including playing patty cake through Mom’s tummy! Sophie was often found rubbing mom’s belly while praying and then giggling “Baby Rhino kicked me!!” Daddy leaned in to chat and to try to calm his WWE practice session only to receive a hard kicked foot to the face. No one was ever disappointed to feel the kicks and headbutts that came on a daily basis.

Jr leaves behind his Father, Benjamin Joseph Sr, Mother, Emmalee, and Big Sister, Sophia Grace, along with more family and friends who loved and prayed for him more than anyone can imagine.

While we aren’t sure of why God called Jr home so early, we are comforted by the knowledge that he is peacefully in heaven. Probably causing all the mayhem he can with his many family and friends that preceded him in death.

Memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, August 14, 2026 at the North Platte Berean Church with Pastor Dan Smith officiating. Book signing will be from noon to 7:00 P.M., with family present from 5-7, on Thursday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
