Cynthia Elaine Fisher, age 56 of Hershey, passed away on Tuesday December 23, 2014.
Cindy was born on July 8, 1958 in San Francisco, CA to Junior and Claudia (Harshfield) Eberly. The family moved to Nebraska and she attended school at Sutherland High School, graduating with the class of 1976. On August 28, 1976 she married Marvin Fisher. She attended nursing school at Mid Plains Community College where she received her RN Degree. She started with the Red Cross as a nurse then worked at the Sutherland Care Center for numerous years where she was the Director of Nursing and a traveling consultant. She also worked at the Agency on Aging and was well respected in the nursing profession. She loved the outdoors, fishing and gardening as well as embroidery, cross stitching and puzzles. She was an avid card player and especially enjoyed her bridge club. She was an active member of Maria Lutheran Church where she was on the church council for several years, and a member of the Maria Lutheran Women, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #279. She always had an open-door and everyone was family to her. Family was important, especially her granddaughters.
Cindy is survived by her husband Marvin of Hershey; 2 sons Jeff (Keri) Fisher and their children Elleigh and Neeva of North Platte, and Ryan (Brenda) Fisher and their daughter Hope Boggs of North Platte; brother Perry (Claudia) Eberly of Redman, WA; as well as numerous other family members and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House in Denver or the Hershey Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post #279 and online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com. Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday December 29, 2014 at Maria Lutheran Church in Hershey with Reverend Erin Dunlavy officiating. A reception and lunch will follow the service at the American Legion Hall in Hershey and inurnment will follow at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery. Those wishing to do so may sign the register book from noon until 6:00 p.m. Sunday December 28, 2014 at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
