Danny Lee Westlake, age 50 of North Platte, passed away at his home on June 17, 2013. Danny was born on October 27, 1962 in Hamburg, IA to Jerry and Carolyn (Moore) Westlake. He grew up all over the country, graduating from Glenwood Iowa High School. He lived in Bridgeport, NE and worked at Well Life Assisted Living before moving to North Platte where he worked at Wendy's. He enjoyed fishing, especially catfish, spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved listening to his grandchildren sing to him; they always made him smile. He will be remembered as a very caring and giving person.
Danny is survived by his children Jasen (fiancé Charly Keller) Westlake of North Platte and Shelly (fiancé Tiffani Hastings) Westlake of Glenwood, IA; best friends Mila Votaw and Wayne Buethe; grandchildren Christine Westlake, Arianna Keller and Nicholas White; sister Diana (Ron) Graber of Omaha; nephew Eric Focken whom he regarded as a son; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial has been established in his name and online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com. Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday June 20, 2013 at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home with the Reverend Brent Montgomery officiating. Those wishing to do so may sign the register book Thursday 9:00 a.m. until service time at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
