David Michael James, 54, of North Platte, passed away on July 20, 2023, at Great

Plains Health of heart failure. He was born to David G. and Michelle (McClaren)

James on July 20, 1969, in Cheyenne Wyoming, the day the first man walked on

the moon.

David grew up in North Platte, NE, attending schools and graduating from North

Platte High School with the class of '88.  Upon graduating, he attended Mid

Plains Community College and later University of Nebraska, studying fine arts

and advertising.

David was an incredible artist and avid reader. During his life he worked as a

cook, a painter and delivery driver. Medical issues caused his early retirement.

He loved music and later in life taught himself to play harmonica. David's most

fond memories are holidays at his Grandma James' and vacations to Taylor

Park, Colorado with his immediate and extended family.

Survivors include his mother, Michelle James; sister and family, Julianne, Rick,

Mariah and Dane Kaiser; many cousins, and other family.

Those that preceded him in death include his dad, David G. James.
