Deborah Eilene James, 71, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away May 16, 2024 at her home in North Platte.  She was born September 22, 1952, in North Platte, Nebraska to Joseph and Eilene James.

She graduated from North Platte High School with the class of 1970.  She then moved to Omaha, Nebraska and went to Commercial Art School.  She was a wonderful, talented artist. Deby then moved to Fort Collins, Colorado.  Deby married Bill Carroll in 1984 in Livermore, Colorado.  They later were divorced but remained lifelong friends.  Deby worked at First National Bank in North Platte for many years and retired in 2019.  She enjoyed music and loved going to her dad, Joe James', dances and listening to the CD's he and his band made.  Deby also loved being in parades with her dad in his 1947 Cadillac.  Deby was a member of the Eagles Club.

Deby is survived by her siblings, Bernadette (Jeff) Lawrey, Tuttle, Oklahoma, Wesley (Tammy) James, North Platte, Nebraska, Matthew James, Lincoln, Nebraska; ex-husband and friend, William Carroll, Ft. Collins, Colorado; sister-in-law, Michelle James, Lincoln, Nebraska; nieces and nephews, Jacob (Valerie) Lawrey, Tuttle, Oklahoma, Paige Crouse, Concord, California, Anthony James, North Platte, Nebraska, Kayla (Alex) Lattimore, Alexis James, Kaz James, BrookeLynn James, all of Lincoln, Nebraska, Tim and Alexis Merica, North Platte, Nebraska; great-nephew, Roman Lawrey, Tuttle, Oklahoma; along with many cousins who she loved dearly and many good friends that gave her so much support.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph James and Eilene McKenney.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, June 6, 2024 at the North Platte Cemetery, North Platte, Nebraska.  There will be a reception and dinner following the graveside at 3:30 P.M. at the Eagle's Club in North Platte.
