Obituary

Debra Kay Dike, age 70, of North Platte, died October 7, 2026 at her home, after a brief but strong fight with cancer surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born on July 22, 1956 in Sioux City, IA to Andrew and Ruth (Amthauer) Jensen. Debra attended North Platte High School before marrying James Dike in 1973 in North Platte. To this union, 2 children were born, Andy and Nicole. The family traveled with the Navy and settled in North Platte.

Debra worked at the Pawnee Hotel and the West Central Agency on Aging, where she worked until recently, and enjoyed her coworkers like they were family. She had a love for all animals and had a special passion for caring for cats and was involved in the TNR program. She enjoyed the lake life, camping and fishing, and had taken on a passion for traveling. Her family was very important and enjoyed following the grandchildren’s activities and sports.

Survivors include her son, Andy Dike of North Platte; a daughter Nicole Dike of Reston, VA; grandchildren, Gage (Ashley) Dike, Sophia Dike, and Layla Dike, all of North Platte; and several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Sharon Thompson.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to TNR. Online condolences and live stream of the service will be at www.adamsswanson.com.
