Obituary

Delbert “Andy” Ray Anderson, age 93, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026 at Linden Court.

Andy was born in Minden, Nebraska on November 12, 1932, to Eldon and Velma (White) Anderson. He grew up on his family’s farm in Axtell, Nebraska, working with his family while attending school. After entering adulthood, Andy met the love of his life, Janice Hardin, and the two were wed. To this union was born their beloved children Richard, Roger, and Cheryl.

After his marriage, Andy felt a calling to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Army in 1954. He was stationed in Italy for two years before returning back to the U.S. in 1956, moving to Loomis, Nebraska. There he started his mechanic shop, Andy’s Repair, build a reputation for honest, quality over his many years in the community. After retirement, Andy and Janice moved to Apache Junction, Arizona. They lived there until health concerns brought them back to Nebraska, where they moved into Linden Estates so they could be closer to their son Roger.

Andy had a fascination with aviation from a young age, often found flying model planes in his youth. This interest compelled him to obtain his pilot license, allowing him to fly through the skies of Loomis and the surrounding area. During his time in Loomis, he also restored many antique cars and enjoyed driving them. He loved nature and set aside many a weekend for camping. When he moved, to Arizona, he developed an interest in rock polishing and made many pieces of jewelry. He was the type of man who loved making people laugh, always having something funny to say. Most importantly, he loved his family and was proud to see his children and grandchildren grow into the people they are today.
