Dennis Edward Campany, 84, of North Platte, passed away on September 25, 2020 at Great Plains Health. He was born on August 1, 1936 to Harry and Corinne (Featherston) Campany in Big Springs, Nebraska.

Dennis attended grade school in Big Springs and Laramie, WY before graduating high school in Ogallala, NE. He then enlisted in the military, serving for both the Army and the Air Force.

On December 30, 1962, Dennis married Sonja Colwell in Osborne, KS. To this union, two sons were born, Mark and Todd. The couple moved around until settling in North Platte in 1993. He worked for T.R.W. until he was laid off and then began working at the Union Pacific Railroad as an electrician where he worked his way up the career ladder rather quickly.

He enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing, and solving math problems. Dennis was an avid gun collector and a great handyman, especially with computers. He was a member of the Elk's Club, Moose Club, and the Eagle's Club, as well as a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Dennis was also a volunteer EMT, and thoroughly enjoyed helping those in need.

Survivors include his wife, Sonja; sons, Mark Campany, and Todd (Janet) Campany; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Shirley.

A private family inurnment will take place at Fort McPherson National Cemetery. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
