Diana Jimenez, 65, of Sutherland, NE, formerly of Plainfield, IL, passed away on February 18, 2021 at Emerald Nursing & Rehab in Cozad, NE.
She was born to Nieves and Josephine (Cruz) Molina on September 2, 1955 in San Antonio, TX. As a child, the family moved to the Bridgeport area in Chicago, where Diana attended grade school and high school, graduating with the class of 1973.
Diana married Alejandro Garcia Jimenez on December 28, 1974. To this union, two children were born, Sandra and Carlos. The couple stayed in Chicago and raised their children. She worked as a school bus driver for many years and loved the children she had the opportunity to interact with. After Alejandro passed in 2017, Diana moved to Sutherland, NE with her daughter.
Diana loved to sing and dance and was an avid animal lover. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts of all kinds. Above all, Diana loved her family; they were the center of her life. She especially loved to travel to Mexico City to visit her family.
Survivors include her children, Sandra Jimenez of Sutherland and Carlos (Sarah) Jimenez of Joliet, IL; mother, Josephine Molina of Tama, IA; grandchildren, Karyna (Dennis) Gallegos of Berwyn, IL, Mia, Xavier, and Elena Jimenez, of Joliet, IL; great-grandchild, Alejandro Jose Gallegos; sister, Ester (Miguel) Montez of Tama, IA; brothers, Ruben (Mariann) Molina of Darien, IL and Richard (Barbara) Molina of Tacoma, WA; several nieces and nephews, along with many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alejandro Garcia Jimenez; father, Nieves Molina; brother, Roy Molina; and sister, Delia Mendoza.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
A memorial service will be held in Chicago, IL at a later date. Online condolences can be shared at www.adamsswanson.com . Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is assisted the family with arrangements.
