Donald Russell Jensen, 76, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away August 18, 2023 at Great Plains Health in North Platte.  He was born on January 19, 1947 to Nels and Esther (Philpot) Jensen in Arnold, Nebraska.

Don was united in marriage to Betty Klauz in 1965.  To this union a son Daniel Jensen was born.  Don served in the U.S. Army from March 16, 1966 to February 27, 1968.  After he returned from the service he moved to Lexington, Nebraska where he worked at New Holland.  Later he moved to North Platte where he was employed by Cement Products, Paulsons and then he worked for the City of North Platte where he retired from.

Survivors include his son Daniel Jensen, Ralston, Nebraska; granddaughter, Sarah Jensen, Ralston, Nebraska; sister, Dorene Smith, North Platte, Nebraska; along with many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, his parents Nels and Esther, sister, Leretta Smith and brother, Robert Jensen.

A memorial has been established in his memory.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M, Friday, August 25, 2023 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska.  Pastor Ryan Alexander will be officiating.  Book signing will be from 9 -5 Thursday, at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements.
