Douglas Eugene Fricke, 68 of Lewellen passed away June 8, 2019 at the Garden County Hospital.

Doug was born on August 24, 1950, in North Platte to Clarence and Ema (Alexander) Fricke. He attended school in Ogallala. On August 31, 1969 he married Nancy Porter. To this union two children were born, Douglas Jr. and Tracy.

He was drafted into the United States Army in 1970, serving in Alaska. He was discharged and returned to Ogallala and worked as a driller for Haggard Well Drilling. The family moved from Roscoe to Culbertson for several years, where Doug worked as an oil driller.

On November 9, 1980 Doug married Diane Roberts in Ogallala. The couple had one son, Shawn. The family lived in Ogallala until 2002, then they moved to Lewellen where Doug owned and operated Fricke Well Service, and later Doug's Well Repair. Doug retired due to health issues.

Hunting, fishing, shooting, and the love for the outdoors were some of his favorite hobbies.

Survivors include his children, Douglas Jr. (Suzanne) Fricke of Omaha, Tracy (Chris) Jaeger of Cheyenne, WY, and Shawn (Sara) Fricke of North Platte; step-children, Christi (Larry) Meyer, and Jeff (Madelene) Lamm all of Sutherland; grandchildren, James Jaeger, Wyatt Jaeger, Cody Lamm, Tyler Lamm, Katriana (Logan) MacNaughton, Ali (Zach) Blake, Mikayla Meyer, Alexandria McCallum, Chandelle (Troy) Scheer, Katrina Sanchez, Kaysha Sanchez, Christian Hatch, Nicholas Crandell, and Makenzie Crandell; siblings, Glen (Pam) of Ogallala, Charley (Deb) of Sarben, Clifton (Dana) of Austin, TX, Janell (Todd) Michalski of Roscoe, Mike ( Beth) of Chappell, Lyman of North Platte, and Lynn of Ogallala; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Diane on July 7, 2013; sister, Jennifer Fricke in 2009; nephew, Greg Fricke; and great-niece, Ivory.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. MT Friday, June 14, 2019 at Ash Hollow Cemetery near Lewellen. Those wishing to sing the register book may do so 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Thursday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte which is in charge of arrangements.
