IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eileen M.
Neff
October 26, 1925 – June 5, 2025
Eileen Margaret Neff, of North Platte, passed away on June 5, 2025, just a few months short of turning 100 years old.
She was born to Nicholas and Mary (Kamphaus) Schiltz on October 26, 1925, in Angelus, KS. Eileen was raised in the rural towns of Angelus and Seldon, Kansas, attending school and working as a waitress for a brief period before she met Leo Neff. The two were wed on October 16, 1945, and started a beautiful family together. The couple welcomed seven children into the world, Joyce, Jerry, Karen, Janet, Keith, Kenny, and David. Unable to find their forever home, Leo and Eileen moved around Kansas until they settled peacefully in Nebraska, raising their kids and spending the remainder of their lives. Eileen spent her days at home with children; she was an outstanding mother and eventually, grandmother. She was crafty in the sense that she loved to sew and craft quilts. Volunteering was a way that she spent her extra time, with the RSVP club or with her church, St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Among the dishes that she cooked, her pea salad was exceptional. Throughout Eileen's life, she remained adventurous, friendly, and outgoing. She was known to hop on a motorcycle, 4-wheeler or a jet ski with the grandkids without any hesitation.
Survivors of Eileen include her children, Joyce (Joseph) Schaefer, Janet Lewis, Keith Neff, David (Teresa) Neff; grandkids, Joey (Wendy) Schaefer, Shelly Schaefer, P.D. (Pam) Neff, Casey (Shawn) Neff, Lea Marie Tackett, James Tackett, Angela (Jonathan) Rogers, Sara (Parker) Briley, Keila (Christopher) Reed, Daniel (Brandi) Neff, Eddie, Tim, and Tina Neff, and Donnee Weverka; several great and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Kathleen (Dan) Zerr, Joann Schwartz; daughter-in-law, Pat Neff; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family.
Those that precede her in death are her parents; her husband, Leo; children, Jerry, Kenneth, and Karen.
Prior to her passing, Eileen requested that memorials be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Expressions of sympathy and live streaming of the service can be found at www.adamsswanson.com.
