Elta M Roberts, 90, of Hershey, passed away August 26, 2013 at the Sutherland Care Center. She was born September 23, 1922 in Hornick, Iowa.
Elta attended school in Sargent, NE. After she graduated from High School she moved to Hornick, Iowa where she worked at a grocery store while attending college, receiving a BA degree from Wayne State College later in her life. Elta married Elheanan E. ""Shorty"" Roberts in Hornick, Iowa on February 10, 1946. They settled in Hoskins and Randolf, NE. Elta taught school for over 35 years. Teaching at country schools, and then taught for Hershey Public Schools retiring in 1989. She was a member of Maria Lutheran Church in Hershey and enjoyed sewing, crafts and gardening.
She is survived by her son Terrance Roberts of Hershey; grandson, Chad Roberts of Yankton, SD; granddaughter, Leita Roberts of Yankton, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; siblings, LeTha Roberts, Rueben Miller, Earl Miller, George Miller, Rosalla (Alfred) Uttecht and Violet (Paul) Hilkemann.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the Riverview Cemetery south of Sutherland with Vicar JA Welsh officiating. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
