On November 8, 2023, Felicitas "Phyllis" Serrano, passed away at Great Plains Health surrounded by the love of her family.  She was born in New Braunfels, Texas, on November 2, 1933, to Gregorio and Leonarda (de la Cruz) Serrano.

Phyllis was born and raised in Texas and later moved to North Platte with her family.  Phyllis was an outstanding aunt; she was the nurturer and mother figure to all of her nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, and was a big part of the individuals they have grown into.  Phyllis was simple; she enjoyed the pure moments spent with her family.  She loved shopping, especially at thrift stores and always made sure to have her "bee hive" hair and nails done.  Phyllis was the central spot for all of the family; every year on Halloween, all the kids stopped by her house to collect their homemade popcorn balls.  She also had seamstress skills and made the girls dresses every Easter and Christmas and she loved to cook; some of the favorite dishes being cheese chili, chicken and noodles, and rice and beans.

Family that is left to carry on the memories shared with Phyllis include her brother, John Serrano of North Platte; niece, Leann Serrano of North Platte; great nephew, Brennan Serrano of North Platte; niece, Georgina Fisher of North Platte; great nieces, Erica Silos and Sydney Silos of North Platte; nephew, Shawn (Johnna) Silos of North Platte; other nieces, nephews, and family.

Preceding her in death are her parents; siblings, Josephine Serrano, Joe Serrano, Vincent Serrano, Willie Layos, Antonia Cochran, Nicky Arellano, Maria Serrano, George Serrano, and Tony Serrano.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 13, 2023, at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Job Vigil as officiant.  Burial will follow at North Platte Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday, November 12, 2023, from 1 PM to 4 PM at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with family present.  Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
