Obituary

Frank Henry "Bud" LaRue, age 91, of Sutherland passed away June 18, 2019 at the Sutherland Care Center.

Frank was born October 16, 1927 to William and Edna (Constable) LaRue in Sutherland, Nebraska.

In his senior year of high school (Dec. 1945) he enlisted in the United States Army, and then received his high school diploma through the GED program. He served his country for four years. After being discharged he worked for Crawford Electric installing power poles for REA. He worked for the Lawler Ranch in Paxton and then hired out on the Union Pacific Railroad in the water service department. In 1951 he enlisted in the Marine Corps for a year, and then returned to the Union Pacific as a lineman.

On January 28, 1956 Bud married Enid M. Ridenour. He enlisted in the Air Force in January 1957, retiring in 1972 with 20 years of service, serving in Southeast Asia twice, Japan, Korea, Monaco, Greece, and England. After that retirement he went into tree removal service for himself.

Bud is survived by his stepson, Rodney (Karen) Ridenour; step-grandchildren, Eric, Rogina, Trevor (Amber), and Candi and their families; several nieces, nephews, and other family members; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Enid; brothers, William, Ralph, George, and Jack; sisters, Nancy, Carol, and Betty; and stepdaughters, Rosalee Kay and Marilyn Rae Ridenour.

Cremation was chosen and private graveside services will be held at Fort McPherson National Cemetery with military honors graveside. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
