Freda June Maire Hampton, 52, of Mullen, NE, passed away in her home with family and friends by her side, after a courageous battle of cancer on April 20, 2014.

Freda was born March 24, 1962, to Fred and Gladith Maire in Alliance, NE.  Freda attended Mullen Public Schools and spent her childhood years on the Maire Ranch south of Mullen. Freda loved the ranch life. As a small child she would climb up the front leg of her sisters' horse to get on. She spent all of her free time on horse back. She loved the horse shows and the many friends she made there. She showed her horse at the Nebraska State Fair and the Four State Horse Show in Dodge City, Kansas.

Freda and Dale Hampton met in Mullen and were married on January 18, 1979 in Torrington, Wyoming. To this union, three children were born, Wendy, Denise, and Brenda. The family presided in Mullen, NE.

Freda started her life long career in 1986, with her husband Dale, as owner operators of Hampton Trucking.  Freda loved traveling all over the country with her husband and three girls making many unforgettable memories.

Surviving family members include her husband, Dale Hampton of Mullen, NE; three children, Wendy (Cameron) Bain of North Platte, NE, Denise (Kyle) Hoyt of Mullen, NE, and Brenda (Katie) Hampton of Omaha, NE; four grandchildren; Michelle and Staylor Bain of North Platte, NE and Gracie and Izzy Hoyt of Mullen, NE; parents Fred and Gladith Maire of Sutherland, NE; three sisters, Kathy (Jack) Haney of Hersey, NE, Risa (Rick) Peters of North Platte, NE, and Lori (Dave) Yoshida of North Platte, NE; in-laws, Wayne and Betty Hampton of Mullen, NE; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding her in death were her Grandparents Herman and Grace Maire and Clarence and Verdi Capellen.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 P.M. MT Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Assembly of God Church in Mullen with the Reverends Robin Storer and Luke Storer officiating.  Inurnment will follow in the Cedarview Cemetery.  Those wishing to sign the register book may do so from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. today through Thursday at Adams &Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte which is in charge of arrangements.
