Glenn Arthur Leth, age 83, of Maywood and North Platte, died September 4, 2026 at Linden Court. He was born on April 5, 1943 in North Platte to Walter and Mildred (Allen) Leth.
Glenn graduated with the class of 1960 from North Platte High School. After his schooling he continued working on the family ranch south of North Platte. On October 20, 1963, he married Barbara Wilson at the Methodist Church in North Platte. The couple resided in Maywood where they ranched on their own.
Glenn later worked for the University of Nebraska Research station, a job in which he enjoyed and gained much knowledge from. The family moved to Ft. Collins, CO in 1969 where Glenn worked for the Ft. Collins Hay Company. In 1970, Glenn went to work for Hills Cattle Company on a series of ranches in Colorado, Gore Pass Ranch, Toponas Ranch, and at Alamosa, CO. In 1971, Glenn moved his family back to Nebraska to return to the family ranch. After his retirement, he and Barb moved into North Platte.
Glenn was a 40 + year member of the Rural Fire Board, serving as secretary for over 40 years. He retired from that position in 2015. Glenn enjoyed 4-H with his children and was a 4-H leader for 17 years. Glenn participated in team roping for many years until 4-H took up much of his time. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid collector of firearms and knives.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Barbara of North Platte; 4 children, Christina Flynn of Albuquerque, NM, Cynthia (Justin) Banzhaf of Cambridge, Camille (Dan) Lusk of Beatrice, NE, and Craig (Cherilyn) Leth of Merna; Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Ted Leth of Lincoln; numerous other family members and friends, including a special cousin, Bob (Angie) Leth of Ashby, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial has been established in his name and online condolences and a livestream of the service can be found at www.adamsswanson.com.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday September 9, 2026 at the Linden Court Chapel with Pastor Mark Baldwin officiating. Burial will be at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 12-7, with the family present 5-7 Tuesday September 8, 2026 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
