Obituary

Glenda Roasch, 67, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away August 29, 2026 in North Platte. She was born September 7, 1958 in North Platte, to Glen and Nellie (Trisdale) Johnston. She was the youngest of 5 children and she took great pride in being the baby of the family. She was adored by her parents and siblings.

Glenda was a housekeeper by trade, and a care taker for her parents; but being a “professional” celebrator came naturally. She had the unique ability to find a silver lining in every situation and never let anything cloud her day. Her will was her greatest strength. Along with her ability to forgive others and keep walking forward made people envious. She accepted everyone the way they were and that was her best asset. She loved going to her second home, the Platte Bar where you would find her playing her favorite game “Keno”, seeing old friends, making new friends or drinking a Jack & 7. As she enjoyed each moment with the love of her life, Ricky Roasch. Glenda’s love for life, love for her children and faith in God kept her fighting a non-winnable battle. She got tired and now it’s her turn to be celebrated.

She leaves behind her love Ricky Roasch; a sister Judy Purvis; 5 children, Phillip (Stephanie) Johnston, Shelly (Kelly) Barnhill, Sarah (Dale) Keeney, Kimberly (Chris) Kelley, Misty (Fred) Murphy; grandchildren, Joey (Kat) Pafford, Rocky (Gina) Pafford, Jessica Johnston, Tyler (Hannah) Johnston, Kyle Johnston, Triston (Savanna) Barnhill, Hannah (Adam MacDonald) Barnhill, Duck Barnhill, Sammy Kelley, Jennifer (Daniel) Ramos and children. Her favorite little fans; Carter, Jace, Evan, Aubrey Pafford, Theodore & Pay Barnhill, Jaiden Vasquez; and a self-nominated “favorite” niece, Aciesa Purvis.

Although her departure is sad, knowing she is reuniting with her parents, Glen and Nellie, and her brothers, Skeeter and Eddie Johnston, all of her aunts and uncles, and friends is sublime.
