IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ida Mae
Ingels
June 19, 1936 – August 23, 2025
Ida Mae Ingels
(June 19, 1936 - August 23, 2025)
Ida Mae Ingels, 89, passed away on August 23, 2025, at her residence in Geneva, Texas.
Born on June 19, 1936, in Dickens, Nebraska, Ida was the daughter of Russell and Minnie Cellan Dugan. She grew up in Nebraska alongside her siblings and later built a life rooted in hard work, family devotion, and spirited enthusiasm for the things she loved.
Ida spent much of her adult life in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she worked as a waitress and cook at East High School. Her dedication to her work and the school community left a lasting impression on those around her. She also lived in North Platte, Nebraska before settling in Geneva, Texas five years ago.
A woman of strong faith, Ida was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Gravel Hill. Her spiritual life was an important part of who she was and provided her with strength throughout her journey. Ida had a deep love for sports--especially NASCAR and football. She cheered passionately for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Nebraska Cornhuskers and supported any team from Texas with equal fervor. Her enthusiasm for game days was infectious and brought joy to those who shared them with her. When not watching sports, she found comfort in quiet moments spent napping with her beloved little dog, Baxter.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Virginia Ingels-Rich (Chuck) Geneva, TX; sister, Beverly (Don) Lee, Madrid, NE; sister-in-law, Carolyn Wyatt, TX; daughter-in-law, Teryl Ingles, Cheyenne, WY; grandchildren, Amanda (Nicholas) Beres, Geneva, TX; Russell (Jamie) Henning, Cheyenne, WY; Curtis (Kailynn) Ingels, Rapid City, SD; Rebecca (Todd) Blanton, Cheyenne, WY; Tiffany Lewis, Cheyenne, WY; 17 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren with one more on the way; several nieces & nephews, including Sheryl (Allen) Janas, Beverly (Bob) Edson, Tim Dugan, Teresa Dugan, along with her best friend of 71 years, Janet Razes.
