James M. Simon, 76, of North Platte, passed away November 9, 2022 at North Platte Care Center.  He was born on May 10, 1946 to William and Elizabeth (Markel) Simon in North Platte.

James was born and raised in North Platte and graduated from Hershey High School with the class of 1965.  After high school, he hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad.  James continued to work for UPRR after moving to Stockton, CA where he lived for the majority of his life until moving back to North Platte in 2018.

Survivors include daughter, Roune; siblings, Tom, Joe, Ann, Kay, Bill, Phil, and Suzie.

James was preceded in death by parents, Bill and Elizabeth "Bess"; brother, Bob.

Services will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with a rosary preceding the service at 10:30 a.m.  Inurnment will follow at North Platte Cemetery.  Visitation will be held, 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
