James (Jimmy) William Legas, 60, formally of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away September 2, 2023 in Fullerton, Nebraska.  James was born on September 14, 1962 to Nick and Esther Legas in North Platte.

James attended North Platte Schools and ESU School in North Platte.  James was a very special person. He enjoyed books, magazines and loved to watch wrestling along with drinking chocolate malts.

He is survived by two brothers, George Legas, North Platte and Chris (Bobbie) Legas, North Platte; two sisters Rose Schrotberger, North Platte, and Clara Legas, Fullerton, Nebraska; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Esther Legas; three brothers, Nick, Donald and Jerry; and one special aunt Clara Negley all of North Platte;

James will be missed deeply.  He was a loving son and brother.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska with Ned Cooper officiating.  Book signing will be from noon – 5:00 on Monday, September 18 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements.
