Janet Marlene Razes, 85, of North Platte, passed away September 15, 2022, at Linden Court. Janet was born October 29, 1936, to Walter George and Amanda Lydia (Tappan) Carland in a sod house at Gandy. She moved with her family to North Platte in 1941. She married the love of her life Dennis George Razes on April 14, 1956, at Julesburg, Colorado.
Janet worked many years as a waitress at several local restaurants. Then worked at Merrick's as a cashier for 18 years before she retired. Janet loved to travel out of town to go shopping and going out to eat. She was known as the coupon and refund lady. Janet loved to spend time with her grandkids and family.
Janet is survived by three daughters Denise (Bruce) Brummer of Merna, Cathy Razes, and Brenda (Steve) Heinzle of North Platte; grandsons Dennis G. (Heather) Razes II of Wellfleet and Joshua Tudor of Omaha; granddaughter Dusty (Tim) Maul; Great-grandchildren Charity Flippo of Arlington, WA., Amanda Prososki of Creston, Morgan Nowatzke of Huron, SD, Tyson Hunter of Carroll, Iowa, Baily Schrader and Shaylin Talbot of Atkinson, , Destaney Mills and Angel Mills of Wellfleet, Sydney Eller, and Megan (Drew) Steinhauer of Hastings; eight great-great grandchildren including Raiden Smith and his Grandma Tina Crowell of North Platte. Janet is also survived by her lifelong best friend (sister) Ida Ingles of San Augustine, TX., sisters-in-law Esther Rutan of North Platte and Christena Jancarik of Costa Mesa, CA; special niece Judy Clang, North Platte; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers; George, Walt Jr., Charles, Loren and Seymour and four sisters; Mary Clifton of Albany, Oregon, Esther Legas, Clara Negley, and Marilyn Teall of North Platte; grandson Brett Brummer of Merna and great-granddaughter Macayla Razes of North Platte.
Services will be held 11:30 A.M., Friday, September 23rd, 2022 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Job Vigil officiating. Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell. Visitation will be held noon-7:00, with family present 5:00-7:00, Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
