Obituary

Janice Pearl Anderson, 87, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away April 25, 2023 at Linden Court in North Platte. She was born on November 23, 1935 to Elzie and Esther (Ball) Hardin.

Janice grew up in Kearney, Nebraska where she graduated from Kearney High School. In 1953 while living in Kearney she married Delbert R. Anderson; they enjoyed over 69 years of happiness together. The couple moved to Axtell where Delbert farmed. Later they moved to Loomis where Delbert opened Andy's Repair Mechanic Shop, where Janice provided of all the bookkeeping and raised their 3 children Cheryl, Richard and Roger. After retirement they moved to Apache Junction, Arizona for many years before moving to North Platte to be closer to family. Janice was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was very active in her church wherever she was. She was an excellent quilter, making quilts for all of her friends and family. Janice will always be remembered as an excellent wife, mother and grandmother, always putting her family first.

She is survived by her husband Delbert, North Platte; 2 sons, Richard Anderson, Lincoln, Nebraska, Roger (Lori) Anderson, North Platte, Nebraska; grandchildren, Tracy (Bo) Wid, North Platte, Nebraska, Dana Anderson, Elkhorn, Nebraska, Brandon Anderson, Kearney, Nebraska, Cody (Beth) Anderson, Sparta, Tennessee, Breann (Kyle) Spurling, Omaha, Nebraska, Jason Shield, Henderson, Nevada, great-grandchildren, Cora and Hazel Wid, Belladonna Spurling, Lane and Layla Anderson, Brian and Bowen Pickle, along with many other family members and friends.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents, Elzie and Esther Hardin; a daughter, Cheryl Anderson; siblings, Wayne, Nadine and Orin.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, May 5, 2023 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery with Pastor Mike Evans officiating. Those wishing to sign the register book may do so 9:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M., Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
