Jeannette M. Jacobs, 86, of North Platte, passed away February 16, 2022 at Centennial Park Retirement Village from complications of COPD and Covid. She was born on November 24, 1935 to John and Sidney (Gale) Landrey in Gandy, NE.
Jeannette graduated from Gandy High School. She taught for a year at a country school. Jeannette married Eldon McCandless on February 14, 1954 and to this union four children were born, Marla, Terry, Jonie, Jeanne. She married Donald Tetherow in 1972 and to this union two children were born, Tami and Heidi.
Jeanette went to nursing school in the early 70's and became an LPN, she later received her RN degree. She worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in the ICU for many years where they called her "JJ". Jeannette later worked at nursing homes in Fremont. She will be remembered as a tough advocate for her patients.
Jeanette loved gardening and flowers and was an impressive seamstress. She was a huge sports fan and loved the Huskers. In her later years, she enjoyed her role as grandmother.
Survivors include children, Heidi Beckett of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Tami (Victor) Collins of North Platte, Jeanne (Mike Adams) McCandless of Missouri, Jonie (Rick) Lenz of Broken Bow, Marla Thompson of Omaha; grandchildren, Cayenne Beckett, Shelby Beckett, Penelope Beckett, Jacquelyn Harper, Emilee Tetherow, Donald Collins, Abbey Collins, Laren Garrett, Lindy (Chris) Leeper, Laurel Lea (John) Gingerich, Larry Garrett, Lexandra Bratton, Tyler (Aledia) Lenz, Tyson (Darla)Lenz, Kyra (Chad) Seefield, Ginger McCandless, Brant (Charlene) Green, Jason (Amber) Dowse, Trisha (Aaron) Weyhrich ; 19 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Sidney; son, Terry; three sisters; one brother; husband Donald.

Cremation was chosen and per Jeannette's wishes, no services will be held. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
