Jeremiah Stevielynn
DeCent
Jan 7, 1995 — Jun 30, 2026
Jeremiah Stevie Lynn Decent, age 31, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
Jeremiah was born January 7, 1995, in North Platte to Michael Anthony Decent and Esther Marie Caudillo. He grew up in North Platte and attended North Platte High School before entering the workforce. He started his work life as a server, working for a variety of food places including Denny’s and Applebee’s. He then transitioned to work at North Platte Care Center as a dietary aide. Most recently, Jeremiah found work on the Union Pacific Rail Crew Xpress, transporting rail crews to wherever they were needed most.
Throughout his life, Jeremiah was never alone. He was always a team player, playing football in his younger years. Jeremiah was known by all as someone happy and caring, forming relationships with his diners, his residents, and his rail crews alike. Though he had an occasional mischievous streak, he always made sure everyone was getting along. He was always smiling, nurturing a happy and stress-free environment wherever he went.
Those left to cherish Jeremiah’s memory are his mom Esther; brothers Dillon Caudillo and Anthony Decent; step-sisters Rebecca, Ashley, and Christine Decent; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many more family and friends whose lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his father Michael and grandparents Hoover and Esther Caudillo and James and Emily Decent.
Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
