Obituary

Jessica Nesslein, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. She was 48 years old. Born on March 31, 1978, in Limon, Colorado, she grew up embracing the values of family, kindness, and devotion that would come to define her life.

Jessica’s journey led her to North Platte, Nebraska, where she made her home and created a life deeply rooted in love and care. Her greatest pride was being a stay-at-home mom, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to raising her children and providing them with a nurturing and joyful environment. This calling became not only her career but also her proudest accomplishment, as she often expressed that being a mother and a grandmother was the most fulfilling aspect of her life.

Jessica is survived by her devoted husband, Larry, and their cherished children: Daniel (fiance, Saraid) Nesslein, Dylan (Kara Fischer) Nesslein, and Desirea Nesslein. Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren: Danny, Veronica, Lily, Audriana, Alaya, and Brinlye. Jessica also leaves behind her beloved siblings: Frank Gonzales and his wife Rosa, Chris Gonzales, and Michelle Gomez and her husband Fernando Vences. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends will also feel the loss of her bright spirit.

From a young age, Jessica delighted in simple joys and playful moments. She was known for her infectious laughter, her love of playing hide and go seek, and her knack for pulling off playful pranks on those she loved. Animals held a special place in her heart—she was especially fond of dolphins and never far from the companionship of her beloved cats. Her culinary talents were well-known among family and friends, as she was an excellent cook whose meals brought everyone together around the table.

Jessica’s path through life, however, was also marked by loss. She is reunited with her brother, Freddie Gomez, and her faithful companion, Gizmo, who preceded her in death. Although her absence will be deeply felt, her family finds comfort in knowing that her love and memory will continue to surround and inspire them.

A memorial service honoring Jessica Nesslein will be held at a future date. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
