John V. Moore, age 58 of Sutherland, passed away Wednesday April 8, 2015 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Zion, IL.
John was born on August 5, 1956 in Rapid City, SD to Martin and Wilma (Schell) Moore. He grew up on the family ranch in South Dakota and after graduation lived for a while in Wyoming where he worked construction and various other jobs. He moved to Sutherland in 1984 where he worked for many years as a horse trader; he had a great eye for a good horse. He also owned and operated Moore Tack Shop, specializing in saddles, shoe leathers, and many other leather items. He was a perfectionist and took great pride in all his projects. One of his favorite pastimes was coyote hunting in the winter. John was involved in farming and ranching his whole life and was always helping those around him who needed help.
John is survived by his siblings Michael of Salt Lake City, UT, Jeff of Wasta, SD, Wendy of Casper, WY and Becky of Douglas, WY; as well as numerous other family members and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and nephew Rhett.
Memorials are suggested to the Sutherland Rodeo Committee and online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday April 14, 2015 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Sutherland. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday April 13, 2015 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
