Jose Luiz T. "Joe" Guerra, 73, of North Platte, passed away July 7, 2021 at home surrounded by family. He was born on January 3, 1948 to Elijio "David" and Mabel (Torres) Guerra in North Platte.

Joe grew up in North Platte and worked various jobs in Nebraska and Colorado. He married Margarita Luna on January 21, 1967 in North Platte. Joe hired on at Union Pacific Railroad in 1967 with Maintenance of Way and worked for 33 years retiring in 2001.

Joe liked to go for drives in the canyons with family and friends. He always had a smile and a greeting for everyone he met. He always waved at everybody. He liked to spend time in the garage listening to music and watching people drive by. Joe loved cars and travelling to Cheyenne to see family every summer. He was a wonderful husband, father and papa.

Survivors include his wife, Margarita "Maggie" of North Platte; children, Rudy (Melanie) Guerra of North Platte, Edward (Connie) Guerra of Lincoln, Teresa (Billy) Riley of North Platte, Leslie (Sonny) Morin of North Platte; thirteen grandchildren, Presley Spudich, Alexander Guerra, T'ea Guerra, Angelina Guerra, Joshua Guerra, Caitlyn Guerra, TeAnn Riley, Dezman Riley, Raymen Riley, Mariah Floyd, Santana Morin, Emiliano Morin, Illiana Morin; seven great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Mila, Lumin, Mia, Ayzlee, Jenika, Cameron; brother, Lupe Guerra of Minneapolis, MN; numerous other family members and many friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Elijio "David" and Mabel (Torres) Guerra; grandson. Jaime; brother, Cecil Guerra; sister, Delores Lane; special person, "Brandon".

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:00 A.M., Friday, July 16, 2021 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Deacon Matt Irish officiating. Christian Wake Services will be held 7:00 P.M., Thursday, July 15, 2021 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Visitation will be held noon-7:00 P.M., with family present 5:00-7:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 14, 2021 and noon-5:00 P.M., Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
