Judy Noonan is now with her loving and caring husband, Donald Noonan.  Judy passed away Thursday, November 7, after a long and happy life.

Judy was born on November 8th, 1937 in Sioux Falls So. Dakota.  She moved to North Platte in 1950 with her mother, father and brother. She attended North Platte High School and then went on to college at the University of Nebraska / Lincoln.   After two years of college, Judy came back to North Platte to start a family.   Her professional career started at the Lincoln County Courthouse as a clerk for Judge Sam Dietrich.  Later she accepted a position with the Union Pacific Railroad and spent the next 27 years as an Engine Dispatcher in the Railyard Tower.

Judy married Don Noonan on May 5th, 1978. They were passionate horse people, raising registered Quarter horses. Judy and Don were avid horse fans and attended rodeos in multiple states.  They had horses on acreage near North Platte and at the family ranch near Wolbach Nebraska.  Besides horses, Judy and Don loved to travel. They shared numerous adventures on the Harley with trips from Canada to Mexico.

Judy was also a devoted mom to a family of five children.  Pamela Noonan of Aurora, CO, Jeffrey Blackmon (Beverly) of Olathe, KS, Norene Noonan of Chicago, IL, Kent Blackmon (Mary K) of North Platte and Camela Noonan of Hickory, NC.   Judy has 12 Grand Children and 8 Great Grand Children.

Judy will be interned for a peaceful sleep with Don at Fort McPherson. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska. Book signing will be 9-5, Tuesday at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements.
