Obituary

Keely Victoria Jackson, age 39, of North Platte, NE, was taken to heaven with her brother Seth Jackson on Thursday, February 19, 2026.

Keely was born September 5, 1986, in North Platte to LaRue and Victoria (Lindsey) Jackson.

As a young woman, Keely was blessed with her three beloved children (Chas on November 25, 2003, Harlow on May 11, 2015, and Jax on December 28, 2016) due to her union with her high school sweetheart Asa McKenney. After having her children, Keely went on to attend Mid-Plains Community College, achieving her Associate’s Degree before continuing with online classes. During this time, she began her job at the North Platte Opportunities Center, where she worked as a Home Health Attendant for 11 years.

Keely will be remembered as a kind and caring soul who loved her children and many nieces and nephews (biological or not), her greatest joy in life was becoming a mom. She loved Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, anything yellow especially sunflowers, and all manner of animals. She was always helping anyone she could, willing to give the shirt off of her back to ease the suffering of others. To everyone who knew her, she was an Auntie, a silly friend, a shoulder to cry on and a sensitive soul with a big heart. She especially loved helping her family, watching her grandkids at every opportunity. She was the person everyone in her family depended on, always calling on birthdays and holidays to let everyone know they were loved. She is missed as she goes to prepare a place for her family in the reunion to come.

Those left to cherish Keely’s memory are her children Chas (Janie Northey), Harlow, and Jax McKenney of North Platte; grandchildren Evangeline McKenney and twins Gwendolyn and Rozlyn McKenney all of North Platte; mother Vicky Jackson of North Platte; sister Autumn Johnson of WA; niece Kaydience Martin-Jackson of Cozad; nephews and niece Shelby Cook, Cheyenne Cook, and Milo Cook, of NE; and many more family and friends whose lives she touched.

She is preceded in death by her father LaRue Jackson and Uncle Richard goes to join him with her brother Seth Jackson.

Cremation has been chosen. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is assisting family with arrangements.
