Leonard Archie Spencer, born July 29, 1930 on the ranch west of Ringgold, Nebraska.  The son of
George Archie Spencer and Delia Edna (Warner) Spencer.  He had one sister Ellouise McDaniel.  Leonard departed this life on July 6, 2024, in North Platte, Nebraska.

Leonard attended grade school at the Childerston one room school in McPherson County, Nebraska through the 6th grade.  Then he moved to North Platte with his family where he finished his education.  He went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad Fruit Express where he worked for 40 years.  Leonard married Jennie Marie Rosendahl on February 18, 1949.  To this marriage 7 children were born; Katherine Ann Culp, Leonard Dean Spencer, Dennis Lee Spencer, Joan Marie (Harley) Miller, Mary Jane Spencer, Larry Lane Spencer and Susan K. Spencer.  Leonard loved to fish, hunt and was an avid gardener and bird watcher.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jennie; his sister, Ellouise; and his parents.

Leonard is survived by his children, Katherine, Leonard Dean, Dennis, Joan, Mary Jane, Larry and Susan; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 200 P.M., Monday, July 15, 2024 at the First Christian Church in North Platte with Pastor Jean Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens.  A luncheon will be served at 12:30 P.M. prior to the service at the church. Visitation will be from noon – 5 on Sunday, July 14, with family present from 3-5, at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
