Lester Walter von Holt Sr., age 86 of North Platte, passed away on Friday October 16, 2015 at his home.
Lester was born June 23, 1929 in Adrian, MN to Elizabeth and August von Holt. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Naples, Italy. He was employed with Simon Contractors for 40 years.
Lester is survived by his children Cyndi (Leonard) Serrano of Littleton, CO and David von Holt of Lincoln, NE; stepson Mike (Dierdre) Johnson of Cheyenne, WY; grandchildren Melanie Marshall of North Platte, Jay Burke of North Platte, Sara (Brandon Harris) Serrano of Littleton, CO, Brianda Johnson of Cheyenne, WY, Korey von Holt of New Orleans, LA, Hunter von Holt of Lincoln, NE; 7 great grandchildren; brother Earl (Audrey) von Holt of Mankato, MN; sister-in-law Virginia von Holt of Sioux Falls, SD; as well as other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons Lester Jr. and Mark; daughter Terri Burke; brother Raymond; and sister Ruby.

Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday October 21, 2015 at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home with. Inurnment will follow at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery with full Military Honors. Those wishing to do so may sign the register book from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
