Lorene Ellen Garrison, 78, of Paxton, passed away on April 17, 2021, at Centennial Park Retirement Village in North Platte, NE. She was born July 24, 1942 to Arnold Schmidt and Carolyn Penner, in Newton, KS. Lorene graduated from Mapleton, County High School and in 1960 she married Lawrence Allen. To this union, Larry, Lori, Lisa, Les and Brian were born.

The family lived between Ogallala, NE and Denver, CO., finally settled in Ogallala where she worked at TRW, West 5 ^th Drive Inn and the movie theater.  Lorene moved to Denver where she worked as a Paraprofessional in the school system, then moved to Paxton, NE in 2018 where she continued to work as a Paraprofessional for the Sutherland Public School.

Lorene loved spending time with her family, she was an excellent mother, even taking in foster children in her younger days and loved dogs. She was very strong, independent and a little stubborn at times.

Survivors include her 5 children, Larry Allen, Craig, CO, Lori (Charley) Cecil, Rock Springs, WY, Lisa (J.D.) Bassett, North Platte, NE, Les (Mandi) Allen, Denver, CO, Brian Allen, North Platte, NE; 12 grand-children, Brooke Cecil, Rachelle (Jared) Henderson, Charley (Tricia) Cecil, Jed (Cherry) Bassett, Jason (Chelby) Bassett, Jessie (Amanda) Bassett, Rachael Bassett, Sherry Bassett, Matthew (Olivia) Boyer-Allen, Raymond Mahik, Bailey Cowan, Dillon (Brittany) Fraker; great-grandchildren, Alexander Spence, Malachi Spence, Noah Spence, Jonah Spence, Zion Spence, Jaina Henderson, Jared Bassett, Johnathan Bassett, Jeremiah Bassett, Azrael Bassett, Jensen Bassett, Jersey Bassett, Rosie Guerra, Aurora Fraker, Atom Fraker; brother's Arnold (Junior) Schmidt, Colorado Springs, CO., Marvin (Punky) Schmidt, Denver, CO.; and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lorene is preceded in death by parents, Arnold and Caroline; siblings, Calvin, Carolyn, Paul, Don, Robert and Jimmy.

A memorial has been established in her memory.

Cremation was chosen. Services will be held at a later date. Adams and Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
