MaeEtta J. Martin, age 82, of North Platte, went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 22, 2012. She was born to John and Opal Alice (Barnum) Nichols on April 7, 1930, near Stapleton, NE, and grew up in that area. When her mother remarried they moved to Maywood, NE. She lived there until she married Edwin D. Anthens in 1945. Two children were born to this union, Karen M. Mahoney and John D. Anthens I.
Later, MaeEtta married Alphus B. Johnston. He had two children, Nancy L. and Norma L. Johnston. They lived in North Platte where Alphus ran a self-employed trucking business until he died in 1990. MaeEtta married Lyle A. Martin on September 27, 2001.
Surviving MaeEtta are her husband Lyle of North Platte; her daughter Karen of North Platte; her granddaughter Renea Anthens of North Platte; her nieces Darlene (Raymond) Hansen of North Platte and Debbie Nichols of Kearney; her grandsons John Dale (Tracie) Anthens II of Nebraska City, and Jeff (Shanna) Anthens of Lincoln; her very good friends Barb and Mike Wing of North Platte and many other family members.
MaeEtta was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Roy, Cecil and Robert, her husband Alphus, her son John and several other loved ones.
