Marian Elizabeth Kalkowski, 96, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away October 17, 2024 at her home in North Platte.  She was born March 20, 1928 in Ainsworth, Nebraska to Lemuel Morton and Elizabeth Minarick.

Marian grew up in Ainsworth, Nebraska.  She attended school in Ainsworth and Grand Island.   Graduating from Grand Island High School. Marian worked for the telephone company in Grand Island and North Platte. She moved to North Platte in 1953.  Marian had 3 children, Terry, Tracy and Tawny.  She always had a positive attitude and a smile.  Marian will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.  She was always present at her family's activities.  She will always be remembered for her delicious cinnamon rolls, chicken and dumplings, and her chicken noodle soup on mashed potatoes.

Marian is survived by her 3 children, Terry (Deb) Kruse, North Platte, Nebraska, Tracy Kalkowski, North Platte, Nebraska, Tawny (David) Pope, Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Dr. Tia (Trevor) Johnson, Alpine, Wyoming, Brandon (Ashley) Kalkowski, Denver, Colorado, Dr. Terra (Dr. Ty) Reusser, Wichita, Kansas, Ambre Kruse, North Platte, Nebraska, Nikki (Ryan) Rippen, Arizona; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Kalkowski, Alijah Garner, Ava Kalkowski, Tatum Reusser, Taylor Reusser, Ethan Reusser, Aden Reusser, Ian Reusser, Gracie Rippen, Faith Rippen, Rylan Rippen, Hope Rippen; along with other family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tony and grandson, Brady.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 10:00 A.M., with Rosary being held at 9:30 A.M. prior to the service at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Jon Sorensen as celebrant.  Visitation will be from noon – 7:00 P.M., Monday, October 21 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
