IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marilyn Coral
Anderson
September 24, 1933 – July 19, 2021
Marilyn Coral Curtis Anderson Sept. 24, 1933 – July 19, 2021
Marilyn Anderson passed away on July 19, 2021 surrounded by her sons in Dallas, Texas.
Marilyn was born in Blair, Nebraska on September 24, 1933 to Albert George and Mabel Katherine (Larson) Curtis. She moved to Bertrand and later attended high school in Brady. Upon graduating in 1951, she took a job in Omaha working for Mutual of Omaha and modeling in her spare time.
On January 2, 1954, in Brady Nebraska, Marilyn married the love of her life, Charles (Chuck) Leo Anderson. In June of that same year, she joined Chuck in the Philippines where he was serving in the U.S. Navy. After spending 2 years abroad, they returned to North Platte where Chuck began working alongside his father at the Anheuser-Busch distributorship. Marilyn took a job at Nielsen Chevrolet and later joined Ed Johanson working for his insurance and real estate business until the birth of her sons. After the boys started school, she joined Chuck in the family business until their retirement.
Marilyn was a member of the First Lutheran Church in North Platte; she thoroughly enjoyed many years of pinochle, gardening, walking her dog, reading and was joyfully devoted to her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Charles A. (Kimberly) Anderson, of Dallas, Texas, and Richard E. (Tamara) Anderson, of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren and their spouses, Bailey and Paul Schaufele, Ashley and Daniel Pond, all of Dallas, Texas, Lindsey and Chris Alfano, Olivia and Earl Henderson, and Charlie Anderson, all of Austin; 6 great-grandchildren, Molly, Charlie and Emma Schaufele, Hannah Pond, and Wyndsor and Ellis Alfano; siblings Judie (Curtis) Mutzebaugh, Richard Curtis, Harold Curtis, and John Curtis. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck; parents, Albert and Mabel Curtis; brothers, Donald Curtis, Albert Curtis, James Curtis and sister, Arlene (Curtis) Hardin.
As her family, we take great comfort in knowing she knew her Savior and is resting in His arms in heaven. 'I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father, but by Me.' John 14:6 Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Arthritis Foundation. Online condolences can be made at adamsswanson.com
The Anderson family would like to extend thanks to their cousin, Kathy Bargell and Marilyn's dear friend, Bea Arent, who tenderly helped care for her during her last years in North Platte, to the caregivers at The Preston, most importantly Abby Kitano, who stood by Marilyn's side, offered her unending comfort and lovingly cared for her throughout her illness while in Dallas; she is an angel here on earth, and we are eternally grateful.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, August, 2, 2021, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Patrick Sipes officiating. Burial will be at the North Platte Cemetery with a reception lunch held in the church following the interment. Adams and Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
