Martin Charles Porter, age 49 of North Platte, passed away as the result of an ATV accident on Tuesday May 31, 2016.
Marty was born on February 19, 1967 in Council Bluffs, IA to Charles Sherman and Pamela Jane (Hurd) Porter. He graduated from Lincoln South East High School in 1985. He moved to North Platte and worked as an electrician for many years at Snell Services and Platte Valley Electric. He operated his own company, P & H Electric, for a few years before working for a time as a bartender at the Platte Bar and eventually going back to work for Platte Valley Electric in November 2013.
Marty is survived by his son Michael Porter of North Platte; father Charlie (Jeannie) Porter of Mondamin, IA; granddaughter Makena Porter of North Platte; two sisters Misti (Albert) Conyers of Alamo, TX and Melinda Porter of Springfield, MO; as well as many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Pamela; and uncle Butch Schaffer.

Family led memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday June 4, 2016 at Harvest Christian Church. Adams and Swanson Funeral Home is assisting the family with their private arrangements.
