Mary Lammers, 87, of Sutherland, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2024, at The Birch at Sutherland.

Mary was born on August 23, 1937, at Roscoe, Nebraska, to Joseph and Sophie Sedlacek. Her life was defined by a passion for education and dedication to her family. She began her teaching career in a rural school, balancing long commutes to North Platte and Kearney at night to pursue her bachelor's degree in teaching. Mary earned her master's degree from Kearney and retired after 37 years of teaching in Sutherland, though she occasionally continued her work as an educator in Paxton.

On September 22, 1979, Mary married Milford "Tuffy" Lammers, and they shared a life filled with love and adventure. She found immense joy in traveling and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Connie (Tim) Jordening of Gering; grandchildren Emily (Zach) Duncan of Omaha, Heidi (Brian) Meade of Omaha, Brett (Shaun) Morrissey of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Mason (Tara) Lammers of Kearney; and 10 cherished great-grandchildren: Cutler and Casen Duncan, Elisabeth, Alexander, and Phoebe Meade, Bentley and Penelope Morrissey, and Tripp, Cohen, and Tuffton Lammers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Margaret; brothers Joseph and Richard; children Deborah, Bernard (Bernie), Geraldine; and her husband, Milford "Tuffy" Lammers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM MST on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Paxton with Reverend Suresh Bandha officiating. Inurnment will follow at Paxton Cemetery.  Those wishing to sign the register book may do so 9:00-5:00  Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.

Mary's love for teaching, family, and her faith will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
