February 5, 1920 – July 6, 2021
Norval August Holtmeier, 101, of North Platte, passed away July 6, 2021 at North Platte Care Center. He was born on February 5, 1920 in Beatrice to Albert and Hermine (Meyer) Holtmeier.
Norval married Ester Endorf on September 7, 1941 in Tobias, NE. He enlisted in the United States Army on September 25, 1941 and served in World War II. While enlisted he served in New Guinea, Papua, Southern Philippines and Zamboanga Mindanao. He is a Purple Heart recipient. Norval served in the Army until June 7, 1945.
Norval worked in parts and delivery for Broeder Machine and Welding, retiring in 1984. He enjoyed traveling, gardening and yard work. Norval was a member of the Episcopal Church of Our Savior and American Legion Post 163.
Norval is survived by a son, Sid (Joy) Holtmeier of LaVista; daughter, Nancy Jewell of Marana, AZ; three grandchildren, Alan (Tamara), Chris (Melissa) and Mike (Sarah); great grandchildren, Selena, Sabastian, Ella and Addison.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ester; brothers Lavern, Aldo and Lee.

Graveside Services will be held 9:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery with Reverend Steve Meysing officiating. Those wishing to sign the book may do so 9:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M., Monday, July 19, 2021 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
