Patricia Callene Batie Lesso
August 21, 1941 – January 7, 2025

Patricia Callene Batie Lesso, (Tish), 83, passed away January 7, 2025 at University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, CO.

Tish was born in Omaha, Nebraska on August 21, 1941 to Roger and Eleanor (Distel) Batie of North Platte, Nebraska.

Tish graduated from High School in Narimasu, Japan while her father was stationed at Johnson Air Force Base in Sayama, Japan. She began Nursing School in Madison, Wisconsin, and completed her Nursing Degree at St. Catherine's School of Nursing in Omaha, Nebraska. On September 15, 1962, Tish was married to Robert J. Lesso in Belleview, Nebraska.  While her husband Bob was working for the United States Army Headquarters at Camp Zama, Japan, Tish was called on by the U. S. Army to care for the many wounded soldiers evacuated to Japan as a result of the Tet Offensive in Viet Nam.

Tish transitioned from providing hands-on, life-saving care to obtaining both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Administration Degrees from Lesley College in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  Tish worked for the rest of her life in the field of health care administration focusing relentlessly on patient advocacy joining State Health Agencies in Massachusetts, Nebraska, and Colorado; serving as Administrator for several nursing homes; surveying health care facilities for the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and was still employed doing medical case review by several law firms at the time of her death.

Tish was preceded in death by her parents Roger and Eleanor (Distel) Batie of North Platte, Nebraska; Grandparents Frank and Annis Distel of North Platte, and Raul and Ella Batie of North Platte.

Tish is survived by her husband, Bob Lesso;  Three daughters and their partners Julie and Ed Oldham of Westminster, Colorado; Kris Lesso and Heather Hogue of Lunenburg, Massachusetts, and Jody Lesso of Thornton, Colorado.  One Granddaughter, Sydney Small and Ben Kisley of Laramie, Wyoming.  She is also survived by one brother and sister-in-law Greg and Mary Batie of Anthem, Arizona, Nieces Claire Sundrup of Omaha, Nebraska, Korene Batie of Anthem, Arizona, and five cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Vidya Sagar Arikotla officiating.  Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska.  Visitation with family present will be Wednesday, January 15, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home, North Platte, Nebraska.
Tish will be profoundly missed by all those she left behind.
