Pat attended St. Michael's Catholic School and Collyer High School where she was active in choir, band, drama, speech, and cheerleading.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Education from Kearney State College.  She taught grades K-8 at Pleasant View, Dist. 31 country school southeast of North Platte from 1970 until it closed in 1991.  From 1992 until her retirement in 2008, she taught first grade at Jefferson Elementary School in North Platte.  She enjoyed being with children and teaching them to read.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, volunteering with Sunday brunches.

Her pastimes included gardening, canning, quilting, reading, and crossword puzzles.  She was an avid Husker fan (football, baseball and volleyball) and followed college and professional sports on TV, especially baseball.  Her favorite team was the New York Yankees.  She enjoyed cooking meals during the holidays and for family gatherings.  Her homemade rolls were an absolute favorite.  She had a sweet tooth and loved her desserts.
