Obituary

A week ago, Paul James Broeder asked his family not to pray for healing but to pray that his Heavenly Father would take him home. God honored that request as Paul passed away October 26, 2025 in North Platte.  He was born May 20, 1936 to Agget and Mary (Adkins) Broeder in North Platte.

Paul grew up south of North Platte on the family homestead.  He graduated from the Curtis Ag High School with the class of 1954. Following graduation, Paul continued his passion for farming while working with his dad on the family farm. On September 1, 1957, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Pace at the Methodist Church in Wallace, Nebraska.  In April of 1963, Paul and Bonnie began operating a dairy farm that continued for 48 years.  Paul served his country by serving in the National Guard. He served the farming industry by being a member of the National Farmers Organization and serving on the National board of Mid-America Dairyman.  He served his community by serving on the school boards of Meadowlawn and Maywood Public School. He served His Lord and Savior by serving on the church boards of Calvary Bible Church and First Baptist Church. He served on the board of Bethel Bible Camp in Wellfleet and was very instrumental in relocating the camp from Sutherland to Wellfleet. He also served as an Area Adviser with American Missionary Fellowship and taught Sunday School and led Bible studies.

Paul loved his family and made time to attend his children and grandchildren's activities. If he couldn't attend, he always wanted to know about their well-being and was known for being a prayer warrior.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie; 3 children, Connie (Greg) Hascall, Bridgeport, Nebraska, LaDonna (Ralph) Swedberg, North Platte, Nebraska, Roland (Deanna) Broeder, Great Bend, Kansas; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 step-sisters, Sherry (Bob) Hughbanks, New Mexico, Joyce (Gene) Bellamy, Colorado, Kendra (Ken) Johnson, Missouri; along with numerous other family members and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents; infant son, Galen; stepsister, Ronda Bess; step-mother, Farrell Broeder.

The celebration of life service will be at 10:30 A.M., Monday, November 3, 2025, at the Calvary Baptist Church, North Platte, Nebraska with Pastor Bob Hughbanks, Pastor Mike Murray, Pastor John Lewis and Pastor Roland Broeder officiating.  Burial will follow at the North Platte Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 3-6, with family present from 5-6, Sunday, November 2nd at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home.  The funeral home is assisting the family with arrangements.
