Peggy JoAnn Beem, age 75 of North Platte, passed away Friday December 11, 2105 at Great Plains Health.
Peggy was born on January 29, 1940 in Hyannis, NE to Harry and Iola (Brown) Miller. She graduated from Hyannis High School with the class of 1958. She married Elmer Beem on December 1, 1960 in Las Vegas, NV. The couple lived in Seattle, California, the East Coast, Colorado, and back to California, all while following Elmer in the Navy. After Elmer's retirement from the Navy, the couple settled in Sutherland. Peggy was a stay-at-home Mom until she began working at ESU16 where she worked for 30 years. She loved her students and developed lasting relationships with many of them. Peggy was a loving wife and mother, and her family was the focus of her life.
Peggy is survived by her husband Elmer of North Platte; children Michael Beem of North Platte and Joseph (Shawn) Beem of San Clemente, CA; grandson Garrett Beem of San Clemente, CA; brothers Harry Miller of Gering, NE, Thomas (Debra) Miller of Eustis, NE and Robert (Mai) Miller of Evening Shade, AR; as well as numerous other extended family members and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son Mark Beem; and siblings Bernice Howard, Charles Miller, Raymond "Pistol" Miller, Martha Ann, Roy Miller, Charlene "Pete" Beem and Julia Kramer.
Memorials are suggested to the Callahan Cancer Center and online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com. Cremation was chosen and private family services will be held at a later date. Adams and Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
