Obituary

Renae Frances Chelewski, 86, of Hershey, passed away July 28, 2023 at Great Plains Health.  She was born Ocotber 10, 1936 to Clarence and Helen (Spotanski) Sekutera in Loup City, NE.

Renae attended school in Loup City and Ravenna.  She worked in several café's waiting tables for 13 years.  In 1961, Renae married Delmar Sands in Waco, TX and to this union, two daughters were born, Debra Ann and Malinda "Lyn".  The family moved to Texas while Delmar was in the military.  They lived in Germany until 1966 and then returned to Fort Sheridan in Illinois.  Renae worked as assistant manager at Woolworth in Illinois.  She moved back to Loup City in 1969.

Renae married Jerome Chelewski and to this union, a daughter Jacquelyn Renae was born.  Renae owned a daycare and was a bartender at American Legion Club.  She moved to North Platte in 1982 and worked at Elk's Club and North Platte Public Schools.  She then moved to Maxwell where she worked at Flock Inn and Maxwell Schools.  Renae moved back to North Platte in 2003, then to Hershey where she worked with Agency on Aging.

Renae will be remembered as a very hard working, devoted mother.  She enjoyed traveling with Polka bands in her earlier days.

Survivors include daughters, Debra (Dave Klinginsmith) Smith of St. Paul, Lyn (Doug) Morrow of Hershey, Jacquelyn "Jackee" (Brad) Fear of Fullerton; grandchildren, Dana (Kimberly) Smith of Fullerton, Jeremy Smith of Fullerton, Amber Smith of Palmer, Natasha Smith of Farwell, Cheri (Jeremy) Bruinsma of Greeley, CO, Douglas W. Morrow of Greeley, CO, Cassie (Devon) Walker of Hyannis, April  Morrow of Greeley, CO, Cody (Delta Foster) Morrow of North Platte, Aspen Carpenter of North Platte, Hayley (Josue) Fear of North Platte, Brandon (Paige) Fear of Sutherland, Britnee (Josh) Hartwig of Wisconsin; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Clarence "Sonny" (Bonnie) Sekutera of Loup City; sisters, Darlene (Bill) Maahs of Grand Island, Maxine Burke of Grand Island, Lucy Marsh of Kearney; numerous other family members and friends.

Renae was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Helen; husbands, Delmar and Jerome.

Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Monday, August 7, 2023 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Baldwin officiating.  Burial will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 12, 2023 at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Loup City, NE.  Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
