Ricky Roasch, 69, passed away September 20, 2026 at his home in North Platte, Nebraska. Ricky Roasch was born to Fred and Rita Roasch in North Platte August 27, 1957.

Ricky was an avid fisherman casting lines with his best friend Norm Larue. He also loved helping his other best friend Van Johnson. Ricky was also a Navy vet, a man with conservative Christian values, he loved his country as much as he loved his family. Ricky enjoyed family gatherings, Nebraska Football, playing keno at the Platte Bar with his wife, and his favorite giving his grand kids full size chocolate bars to irritate their parents. Rick’s faith in God kept him grounded, and his super power was rolling with the punches as they come, enjoying nature and sitting on the porch having an ice-cold beer watching the neighborhood.

Ricky is survived by his children Phillip (Stephanie) Johnston, Shelly (Kelly) Barnhill, Sarah (Dale) Keeney, Misty (Fred) Murphy, Kim (Chris) Kelley. Grandchildren Joey (Kat) Pafford, Rocky (Gina) Pafford, Jessica Johnston, Tyler (Hannah) Johnston, Kyle Johnston, Triston (Savanna) Barnhill, Hannah (Adam MacDonald) Barnhill, Duck Barnhill, Sammy Kelley, Jennifer (Daniel) Ramos and children. He was especially excited to watch his great grand children grow, they are Carter, Jace, Evan and Aubrey Pafford, Jaiden Vasquez, Theodore and PayPay Barnhill. He is also survived by sister-in-law Judy Purvis and sister Tony (Chris) Reken; lots of aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces.

Preceding Rick in death is his parents Fred and Rita Roasch; wife Glenda Roasch, grandparents Dorothy and Frank Musil, in laws Glen and Nellie Johnston, brother in laws Skeeter and Eddie Johnston.

In lieu of flowers the family request you hug your parents, have a beer, go fishing, take time to relax. All monetary gifts please give towards the funeral.

Memorial service will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, October 1, 2026 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Miriam Cemetery with local Military Honors. A reception will follow at the Platte Bar. Visitation will be noon -7, Wednesday, September 30, with family present from 5-7 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
