Robert "Rob" S. Spears, age 60, of North Platte, Nebraska, went to heaven Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from Great Plains Health.

Rob was born May 4, 1965, in Spokane, Washington, to William and Marilyn (Larson) Spears.

After growing up in Spokane, Robert moved from place to place, working as a chef. In 2004 he was working in Denver, CO, when he fell in love with his future life mate, Sue Bernard. He followed her back to North Platte where they built a life together for the next 22 years. There he worked various jobs, including running the BBQ Pit for many years.

Cooking was Rob's passion! He loved seeing people enjoy his food, especially his family. He loved being a step-father and spent as much time with his partner and step-children as he could. He was also a true animal lover, always filling his life with as many animals as his household and partner allowed. He also enjoyed nature, and could often be found enjoying his free time fishing in the great outdoors.

Those left to cherish Robert's memory are his life mate Sue; step-children Collette (Charlie) Murray, Elizabeth (Martin) Roscheski, and Jessica (Leonard) Yearling; mom Marilyn (Jerry) Hubble; brother Rick (Sandy) Spears of CO; sister Linda Probst of Colorado; and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his dad William Spears and brother Russ Spears.
